Gains were largest in the following sectors: n Health care and social assistance (up 2,300 jobs) n Construction (up 1,500 jobs) n Retail trade (up 700 jobs) Losses were largest in these fields: n Financial activities (down 700 jobs) n Wholesale trade (down 600 jobs) According to state data, health care and social assistance grew rapidly in 2023, adding 5,600 jobs through the year. The state divides the sector into four components, each of which saw rapid growth at the end of the year.
