By the early 1900s the Yakima Valley was fast becoming a farm community, thanks to some natural geologic advantages and the foresight of enterprising farmers. The Yakima Valley Museum celebrates cultural influences, agricultural heritage and way of life in the Valley over hundreds of years. Visit the American Hop Museum to explore the hop industry’s history, right here in the world’s largest hop producing region. Learn about Yakama Nation heritage at the Yakama Nation Cultural Center & Museum. Tour the Central Washington Agricultural Museum to explore the evolution of farming with a vast collection of historic farming equipment. Walk or drive through the 17 acres of mostly outdoor displays featuring hundreds of planters, harvesters, wagons, tractors, and other items that showcase life on the farm over the past 100+ years. Visit the living-quarters, blacksmith, sawmill, and fruit processing displays. Outdoor grounds open year-round from dawn to dusk. Indoor exhibits open April to October.
