View the artwork that begins on the exterior base of the column and traces the region’s history. Then climb 164 steps to the top for a grand view of the city below and the distant ocean. Begin your tour at 28th and Irving in Astoria, pass the lofty Cathedral Tree along the forest trail, and emerge at the base of the Column. You can also drive to the Column and hike your way down into Astoria.
