THE LINK: JULY 2023 32 Renewable energy, emerging technology on governor’s radar Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s second annual energy and economic sustainability conference in Anchorage came off with a splash in May, heavily attended and with a high note on the final day as the governor shared the stage with famed energy consultant and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Daniel Yergin. Dunleavy was nearby during Yergin’s keynote remarks on the final day, May 25, and a few minutes later engaged the author with questions on energy trends. The conference itself focused on presentations about renewable energy and emerging energy technologies like micro-reactors, both topics of interest to the governor. Sustainable agriculture and other topics were also discussed. The interest of many attendees was on how to cash in on new federal alternative energy grants and tax credits.
