Art & Culture This May Art Meets Wine in the High Desert returns to Sunriver for its sixth year — and the 2024 event promises to be better than ever. A fundraiser sponsored by the Sunriver Women’s Club, Art Meets Wine in the High Desert combines wine tastings with local artist demonstrations, live music, food, a wine wall and an online auction. Tickets for Art Meets Wine in the High Desert are limited, and can be purchased at artmeetswine.org. Join the festivities on Saturday, May 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at SHARC to taste wines from more than a dozen vineyards. Pair wine with delicious food choices — including vegetarian options — from local favorites La Paella Bend and Hot Lava Bakery. While sipping and sampling, enjoy live music from Rigby Pass, a Central Oregon band playing rock-and-roll hits from the 1950s through the 2000s, and chat with talented members of the Artists’ Gallery Sunriver. They will offer live art demonstrations and create special pieces available for purchase at the event. Browse dozens of online auction items, all of which will be available at artmeetswine.org prior to the event. Bid on everything from wine, dining and lodging experiences to outdoor activities, artwork and more. Your participation in Art Meets Wine in the High Desert makes a real difference in the local community. Net proceeds support nonprofits in South Deschutes County — addressing Child Safety, Hunger Prevention, Shelter, Education & Youth Development, Health and Mental Health. Since 1999, the Sunriver Women’s Club has awarded nearly $1 million to nonprofits and public schools with the goal of building a strong network of services improving the lives of people in the community. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to sample delicious wines and foods, explore beautiful artwork and support those in need.
