Bachelor is the place for thrill-seekers, adventure-lovers and anyone who just wants to have an adventurous good time. Discover experiences like mountain biking, hiking, camping, ziplining and dining — all in the high alpine. MOUNTAIN BIKING Let the lifts do the work this summer and save your energy for the downhill. Mt. Bachelor’s lift-served Mountain Bike Park offers premier downhill trails for all ability levels from novice riders to experts. Explore a variety of bike park season pass and ticket options servicing a walk-up skills park and two chairlifts that provide access to more than 13 miles of rideable terrain, including flowy single track, technical rock gardens, and advanced jump lines. ZIPLINING If pedaling isn’t your passion, ziplining could be just what you need to get your fix of gravity-fueled fun. Mt. Bachelor is home to the Pacific Northwest’s steepest, fastest and highest elevation zipline. This dualline, three-stage tour launches from an elevation of 7,800 feet and drops nearly 1,400 vertical feet along the volcano’s slopes with sweeping views of the Cascade Mountain range. Fear not, riders are totally in control of their speed as each zip trolley is equipped with a self-controlled braking system, and one of Mt. Bachelor’s trained guides will show you the ropes. SUNSET DINNERS For a dining experience that truly transcends the ordinary, retreat to Mt. Bachelor for a signature Sunset Dinner. After a short but scenic chairlift ascent you’ll arrive at the Pine Marten Lodge where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views, hand-crafted cocktails, and a prix-fixe menu by Mt. Bachelor’s executive chef — all served at 7,800 feet. Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or that special someone, this unique dining experience is one you won’t forget. Reservations are required, please visit mtbachelor.com to book. HIKING Looking to log some miles? Step into the heart of Oregon’s wilderness and start your trek at one of Mt. Bachelor’s curated hiking trails. From volcanic lava fields to blooming wildflowers and ancient white bark pine trees, every section of trail is photo-worthy. To round out the day, treat yourself to a cold one at Pine Marten Lodge or Clearing Rock Bar. CAMPING Instead of driving back to town, park your car in the West Village lot. Escape the busy campgrounds and opt for spending the night in one of Mt. Bachelor’s powered or non-powered sites. There’s nothing better than making memories under the stars and waking up to a beautiful alpenglow sunrise. A quick drive will take you to Sparks Lake, Todd Lake, Devil’s Lake or Elk Lake, so the adventure is right around the corner. 2024-25 | SUNRIVER MAGAZINE 38
