Sunriver Magazine - 2024-2025

Photo by Rick Anderson English writer, philosopher and art critic John Ruskin once said, “Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty.” Theoretical physicist Albert Einstein said, “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” The quotes of both men illustrate the synchronicity between art and nature and how both bring an abundance of inspiration. The majestic Cascade Mountains, the clear lakes and streams, and the vast night sky provide countless opportunities for inspiration for art, music and literature in Sunriver. The bark of a Ponderosa Pine tree looks like a jigsaw puzzle and the meadow wildflowers like an artist’s palette. The birds’morning songs, the sunlight playfully sparkling on lakes and lava outcrops are a few of the countless opportunities to explore the harmony of art and nature in Central Oregon and Sunriver. ART GALLERIES The Artists’ Gallery in The Village showcases the artwork of more than 35 artists who masterfully capture Central Oregon’s beauty. Community members are invited to attend Second Saturday at the Artists’ Gallery every month, 4 to 6 p.m. while enjoying beverages and food.
