Linking Alaska’s Resources to Alaska’s People 38 2024 Meet Alaska Conference & Trade Show Bill Webb put his stamp on The Alliance over 25 years. For Rebecca Logan, now the Alliance’s president, it has been 14 years, with more to come. Logan formerly headed another influential Alaska business group, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alaska. She also served on the board of Chugach Electric Association and was selected to be its board chair. Among her initiatives at the Alliance, Logan has focused on growing its membership and becoming involved in mining issues to support Alliance members who do business in that industry. “Our top goal for at least 30 years has been to promote a favorable business climate — that will not change,” Rebecca said. Logan noted that after 45 years the majority of members are still supporting oil, gas and mining operations, but the Alliance now has a growing number of members working with nuclear, geothermal, wind and solar. These new fields of work for support companies complement traditional resource industries and are an example of the diversity of the Alliance membership and the ability of the membership to respond to the needs of the market. What many don’t know about Logan is that she has been in small business and the restaurant industry, including establishments well known in Anchorage’s past, such as Harry’s in the city’s mid-town and The Perfect Cup and O’Brady’s Burger and Brew in Dimond Center, in south Anchorage. The Alliance is in very good hands! Leading The Alliance: From Bill Webb to Rebecca Logan
