Hawaii Military Guide - Summer-Fall 2024

HAWAII YOUTH OPERA CHORUS (HYOC) The Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus (HYOC), the longest running premier children’s choir, offers a full spectrum of music education. Students’ grades kindergarten through 12th from any Oahu School are invited to participate. HYOC’s mission is to build a foundation of excellence in choral performance, to guide Hawaii’s youth to establish a life-long appreciation of the performing arts and to provide leadership in music education. HYOC continues to grow tomorrow’s leaders through music by providing the perfect venue for students to meet and develop friendships, important life skills; gain experience in performances and learn from experts in music education. Enrollment is held Saturday mornings in the first month of the new semester. HYOC has two semesters: Fall (August through December) and Spring (January through late May). Enrolled students will get the chance to polish their vocal skills and perform as HYOC averages about 20 to 30 concerts per year. In addition to teaching their students how to sing, HYOC teaches the principles of music theory and the proper singing technique through choral music. Please call 808-521-2982 or visit www.hyoc.org for more information. PAS DE DEUX Pas de Deux Hawaii is a performing arts school located behind Costco in Waipio.
