Dogs and cats arriving in Honolulu will be taken from the aircraft by airline personnel and delivered to the Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility. Pets are taken out of their carriers and placed into indoor kennels and provided with fresh water. Food may be provided at owner’s request. At the AAQHF, your pet will be inspected, including checking for ticks and other parasites. If all paperwork was received on time and is in order, and there is no discovery of ticks, parasites or signs of disease, your pet should be eligible for Direct Airport Release. Direct Airport Release: Owners are able to pick up their pet(s) from AAQHF immediately after inspection is complete (approximately one-two hours after arrival). Please note that delays have been common during the past few years. AAQHF is located between Terminals 1 and 2, roughly 120 yards from baggage handling.
