At Peninsula Family Service (PFS), we’ve embarked on a mission to spark connections, ensuring that we can take care of the most vulnerable in our community. An important component of this mission is to work to overcome the widespread issue that affects millions of us every year: loneliness. To help overcome loneliness and social isolation, PFS partners with San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services to support older adults through a dynamic technology education program called Help@Hand. Help@Hand provides technology education for older adults in San Mateo County. Workshops are held at 16 sites throughout the county. Over the past year, 847 older adults have improved their digital literacy through Help@Hand trainings.
